Review: Beauty and the Beast. *A Few Spoilers*

I saw this film a few days ago and it ticked every single box! Twice!
After seeing the trailer all that time ago when it was first advertised I was ready to see a live action remake of a childhood favourite of mine. However when speaking to others I heard a lot of unsure opinions on the entire idea of the film.
I can understand how others may be skeptical of a live action version of Beauty and the Beast. Remaking any cartoon as a live action film is a risky job, there's plenty that could have been wrong with this film; too much could have been changed, there could have been chunks missing and most importantly the characters could have been all wrong.
Although for me there wasn't any disappointment, there was a lot of room for some!
Although the story was altered slightly by adding a little more detail into Belle's past, this for me wasn't a bad thing at all. It was nice to see a little more depth in the story line, I also think that remaking a film allows for that little bit extra to be added in. Enough was added to allow the viewer to think a little about the true meaning of the story however there also wasn't too much added in allowing the story to remain engaging enough for a younger audience.
One of the major parts of this film that I loved were the characters, they were all portrayed perfectly and each of them resembled their cartoon character almost alarmingly well. A personal favourite of mine had to be Gaston. Luke Evans suited his part ridiculously well and left the audience grinning everytime he spoke.
The entire film gave off a magical feeling and I found myself remembering back to my childhood as I watched.

Overall Beauty and the Beast was excellent, it was bursting with entertainment, the storyline was perfect, it wasn't rushed or sloppy even despite the parts that were different to the original. The characters were portrayed the way they should have been. The film took a while to get started but was overly very entertaining.
It was worth watching and I will be making a purchase when it's released on DVD.
It was a must-see if you ask me!

What did you think of Beauty and the Beast? And where you skeptical when you first saw the trailer? Let me know.
