Sponsored Post: Uncommon Goods

I've been asked to write a sponsored post for an online website called Uncommon Goods. Have you heard of it? I hadn't either. But now that I've learnt more about them I've found myself unable to stop browsing through all of their unique and wonderful products.
Before I get into telling you about some of the fantastic products I've found when trawling the website, I'll let you in on a little more information about the company and what they do.

About The Company

Uncommon Goods are about working on sustainability as well as running a business. They are always working on new ways of becoming as environmentally friendly and socially responsible as possible. They want to make their company a great place to work as well as a successful business.

Products

Their products are creative and individual. Giving you an opportunity to purchase goods that are hand crafted and unique (hence the title: Uncommon Goods!) They work with artists and manufactorers to ensure their products are being made in an environmentally responsible matter. Since the company opened they have tried to feature lots of products that are made up of recycled components.
They have also not sold and still do not sell any products containing leather, fur, feathers or pearls. They make it a rule to themselves not to sell or buy any products that harm people or animals.

They also try not to use too much of the Earth's resources and do most of their advertising online rather than with posters and leaflets. They do offer a catalogue but limit the amount they send out and use recycled paper on the ones that they do.

Now, let's talk about some of their products.

Funny Doormats -
I'm a huge fan of an amusing doormat! In fact isn't the doormat the first thing you look at when entering someone's home? If a household has a clever or interesting doormat it makes me automatically like the people in it.
Which is why I was very impressed with the selection of doormats uncommon goods has to offer. From comical welcome mats to personalised mats that actually look like cassette tapes. They really do have a great range.
My personal favourite has to be a welcome mat that says 'come in' on it. Sounds very standard I know, but the writing is printed a certain way so that when entering the house the mat says 'come in' and then on the way out when you're looking at the writing upside down it says 'go away'. I thought this mat was fantastic and I would definitely buy it to have for my house! There are plenty of other amusing doormats to browse on the Uncommon Goods website. Click here to see more!

Unique Candles-
Who doesn't love to have a nice candle burning away in their home? It does make it feel much cozier. With the amazing collection of candles of Uncommon Goods you can have a candle unlike any other. From candles that burn down to reveal hidden contents like crystals to candles that project shadows when they burn. I really haven't seen anything like these candles anywhere else!
My favourite has to be the small collection of literary candles I found on the site. They are created to smell like scenes from famous books when they burn. There was even one that supposedly smells like 221b Baker Street, and I must say I really fangirled over this product when I saw it!
There are so many other candles I haven't even mentioned, take a look for yourself on Uncommon Goods.

Pillows and Blankets-
You can never have too many pillows on your bed can you? And how nice is it snuggling up on the sofa under a soft and fluffy blanket? Well there is certainly plenty of these in this section of the website. Pillows with quotes, personalised pillows, embroided pillows, pillows in the shape of food and lots more!
There's also a great selection of blankets/throws that are so unique that you know no one else is going to have one similar! The one I fell in love with is a throw designed with the opening paragraph of Pride and Prejudice etched into it. The detail is beautiful and it's a lovely idea for a gift (espeically for a book nerd like me!) I would definitely buy this for myself, in fact I might do a bit of shopping on Uncommon Goods after I finish writing this post.
Anyway don't just take my word for it, check out more amazing pillows and blankets on the site!

I hope you've enjoyed reading about the great new website and I hope that you find yourself scrolling through their fantastic products and maybe even buying some for yourselves. Take a look at the site and I'm sure there will be something on there that you'll just have to have!
